📡 Weekly Relay Recap #15 🛰️
Over the last week between 02/04 to 02/10, the Pocket Network protocol has successfully relayed over 38M application requests and settled at 1,754 nodes.
Since the mainnet launch, Pocket Network node operators have served and validated over ~728M relays (API requests) from both Ethereum applications and native Pocket applications.
This has generated ~7.28M+ POKT in network revenue 🤯
Weekly Relay Recap
01/14 to 01/20: 32,532,004
01/21 to 01/27: 43,503,095
01/28 to 02/03: 41,378,733
02/04 to 10/04: 51,297,437
For the week of 02/04 to 02/10, the average relays per day were ~6.42M.
Over the last four weeks, applications using the Pocket Gateway have driven a total of 169.1M requests which equates to 663.49 GB of data 📡
In this timeframe, that means nodes have minted a bit over ~1.68M POKT, with 89% going to the service nodes (~1.50M POKT), 10% going to the Pocket DAO ( ~168k POKT), and 1% going to the block producers (~16.8k POKT).
Total Relays from 01/14 to 02/10:
168,711,269.00
AVG Relays Per Day 01/14 to 02/10:
6,025,402.46
AVG Relays Per Week 01/14 to 02/10:
42,177,817.25
Total Staked Nodes
1,754 (+459)
Analysis by Marco 👋 | @TMod_Marco
The relay success rate is a metric about relays serviced by the network (not client-side). The relay success rate (~73.86%), which is a slight decrease (-1.12%) compared to last week. This is correlated with the percentage of misconfigured nodes (~26.14%) in the Pocket Network. We are working with the Pocket Network community to reduce the impact of misconfigured nodes. The 26.14% of error relays were successfully picked up by one of our altruistic nodes, as explained in previous weekly relay recaps.
Considering the number of nodes on the network increased by 35.4% this week, an increase in the success rate makes next week look even more promising.

For this week’s relay recap, we used the 90-day window as this better reflects the past week. Overall, the daily relay count was steady without any big spikes, down or up. At the end of last week, EtherJS added Pocket Network as a default infrastructure provide, from which the daily relay count (so far) increased immediately. It’s expected to drive more relays to the protocol as developers upgrade their dependencies.
Updates
API3, a decentrally governed and quantifiably secure data feeds solultion to the multifaceted oracle problem, shared an announcement regarding our official inter-DAO strategic partnership and token swap.
The API3 tokens received from the $API <> $POKT token swap will not only let us participate in their governance but also use their service to provide critical data to ensure highly-reliable, dynamic pricing for developers paying for blockchain API access when that time comes. The 250k POKT tokens acquired by the API3 DAO will be staked for guaranteed relay bandwidth of up to 10,000,000 requests per day of API data from Airnodes to smart contracts on platforms supported by Pocket Network without any decentralization bottlenecks or single points of failure.
This inter-DAO relationship sets the stage for a web3 future that is truly owned and governed by its users!
As mentioned last week, the EtherJS pull request has successfully been approved and merged, meaning the Pocket Network integration is now live! This added Pocket Network as a default infrastructure provider in EthersJS. dAPP developers that already utilize EtherJS SDK simply need to upgrade their dependencies to leverage Pocket Network benefits.
We are excited to welcome Georgia, who’s picking up user research! If you’re a Web3 developer working on live projects, then please do reach out to her!

What can you do to drive relays and add nodes to the network?
App Side of the Marketplace
Use any of these apps listed in this forum post. You can also earn a skill for dogfooding any of those applications by completing a quest within the POKT arcade.
We are offering applications up to 1,000,000 requests per day as part of a limited free tier program. Please refer us to any blockchain apps/services that you want to be actually decentralized and truly resilient to single points of failure (DM me @disrubtbanksy on Twitter and/or Discord)!
Node Side of the Marketplace
Don’t know how to run a node? Watch the Zero to Node videos above to learn how.
If you run into any issues, a community of node runners (and our support team) would be happy to help. If you’d prefer to not run a node yourself, check out the forum for a list of node providers offering their services to people interested in participating in the ecosystem.
How to purchase POKT to stake?
When you are ready to take the step forward in supporting decentralized node infrastructure and earning Pocket’s native cryptocurrency for serving apps then visit the community-established OTC run by Subzero, which is the best way to buy or sell POKT and helps nodes cover the cost of their infrastructure. Join the private telegram channel (requires telegram) and message the admin to get started. Note that there are fees associated with the OTC to help cover their costs and that neither Pocket Network, Inc., the Pocket DAO, nor the Pocket Foundation receives any of these fees nor any proceeds from the sale of POKT through the OTC.
